Policy & Handbook

Attendance

My hours of operation are 6:30 - 5:00 M-F. Your specific hours will be outlined in your contract and rate agreement. If you need to change enrollment hours, please provide a written request two weeks in advance.

I may occasionally accept drop-ins if I have space available on any given day. If you tell me that you will not be bringing your child, there is a chance I will fill your spot for that day and you will lose your day if I do so. I do need you to give me a minimum of 48 hours notice if you change your mind and want/need to bring your child after all on your day. You are still expected to pay all the fees for your contracted days regardless if you come or not. I do not accept drop-ins for the purpose of earning a little extra income. Rather, I do it as a service to all my parents, which may possibly include you if you would ever need/want child care during a time for which you are not scheduled. Your 48 hour notice is not only put into place because I may schedule a drop in on your day, but this will give me time to adjust my menus. Field trips maybe planned if your child is not coming because I will have a smaller group. 48 hours notice would give me a chance to reschedule any activities should you bring your child.

You are to inform me if you are at any other location than what you have listed on your enrollment form and emergency cards. You will have to provide a phone number for that place.

Please give me a call by 8:00am if you will not be bringing your child. I prefer to have all children arrive to daycare by 9:00am, if at all possible. This is a structured program and it can be difficult to maintain children's focus during learning and scheduled activities if other children are arriving during these times.

Visiting your Child

Parents are always welcome to drop in and see your child at any time during regular hours. You are to let me know of your presence before entering premises. The front door will always be locked. The customer entrance door may also be locked for the safety of the children and to prevent unwanted visitors from entering. Please don't be disappointed if I don't entertain, but it is important for me to give all of the children the attention they deserve.

Parents are also welcome to participate in any planned activities, such as reading stories, field trips, luncheons, art projects and any other activities you'd like to be involved in. These planned activities will be posted in the Monthly newsletter.
